Hey, throw the equipment in the wash and get the
penalty stink out of it for the summer. Congratulations
to all on a great season and especially the six members
who represented us so well in the finals. Never too
early to look ahead to next season.
Your 2008-09 dues are required by May 1, 2008. They
are $100. You can mail a check to Maine NIHOA to
my home address at 60 Gettysburg Ave., Brewer, ME
04412. Let me know if you want $100 of your playoff
money applied to your dues for next season. I will
send the difference to you. Remember, dues go to
$150 per your vote if not paid prior to May 1. Inactive
dues for the season are now $15 if you wish to use
that membership option. Show me the money, honey!
Enjoy your spring and summer.

This
is the best and worst time of year for me.
Good,
because the season is over
and worst because we only have (6) on ice slots
left to fill. It’s always difficult.
Many are deserving but for the finals, only
(6) get
chosen. Each year we try and get as many officials
on-ice throughout the playoffs as we can. I
hope I accomplished that objective for the
Chapter.
We feel the same way about the State championship
games. As an Executive Committee, we want as
many Chapter members as possible to experience
this. I was fortunate to get the opportunity
twice. This year, we have three of our members
making their first trip to the finals. Their
performance during the playoffs validates their
assignment to the finals. The others have continuously
performed at a very high level during the regular
season and the playoffs as well. Here are our
final 2007-2008 assignments:
Class
B State Championship Game
Linesman - Adam Theriault
Referee - Dean Gilbert
Referee - Mike Keaney
Class
A State Championship Game
Linesman - Jeff Martin
Referee - Ray Levesque
Referee - Chris Halsted
Thanks
to everyone for all you do to make my job
easier. As
a “retired” official,
I understand the time commitment this sport
takes, especially since many of you are working
multiple levels and organizations. It was a
very good year. The MPA views our organization
as one of the best. Your professionalism is
what makes it that way. Thank you. (from Bill
Gallagher)
